What it is
Companions in Play is a Born 2 Game community program that brings interactive games and compassionate companionship to people in senior care and pediatric care settings. We bring the games, sit down at the table, and play together.

Seniors
Seniors in retirement communities, long-term care and hospice
Children
Children in pediatric care and hospice, including kids facing long hospital stays
What a visit looks like
Visits usually run about an hour, one-on-one or as a small group.
With seniors: board games like checkers, card games, group trivia, arts and crafts, and brain games
With kids: interactive play, arts and crafts, and games that give a fun break from the hospital routine
Why we do it
We believe in the power of play to lift the spirit. Every day our store is full of people who came for a game and stayed for the company. Not everyone in our community can come to us, so Companions in Play takes the game table to them.
For seniors, a regular game time is a chance to socialize, feel less lonely, and keep the mind active. For kids, it is a break from medical routines and a chance to be creative and have fun.

Born 2 Game is a veteran-owned, family-friendly game store in Woodbridge, Virginia.
